Since I work on a computer all day for my job, I listen to movies sometimes on my iPod. Today I listened to Forrest Gump (one of my new favorite movies) and Now and Then. Both are such good movies! Tomorrow will probably be 10 Things I Hate About You and The Goonies, if I can stay focused and get them on my laptop.

I work out at a ladies' gym, and they give beginners 3 basic days to follow: Legs, Arms, and Cardio. I didn't work out too much over the long weekend due to my family being in town, so I decided to do all three in one. Bad life choice. I felt like crawling out of there, it was ridiculous. I feel better about it now, considering I had a yummy salad with tomatoes, green pappers, fat free ranch, sun flowers seeds, and cheese on it. I was about to go to Subway, but I'd rather save the $5.

I've been writing lately and feeling pretty good about it. Nothing I'm willing to share at the moment, but maybe one day soon, once I feel more confident about what goes down on paper...

Problem Solved

So remember how I was debating about getting my hair cut? Well I finally caved...and had my mom do it. I know, I know, but I can't trust Great Clips anymore! And, why not have her cut it? I can tell her what I want, how I want it, and not feel like an ass. It turned out to be much better than I thought and it feels a million times better as well. Cheers, mom.

Junior year of high school my friend Adam once said, "Mexican food makes me poo napalm." I got free Chipotle tonight, and I now know what he means. I don't think I ever laughed so hard in class like when I heard him say that. I still giggle when I hear it. Mainly because the word "poo" is in there, but hey, I'm only human. To add to the immaturity, my little cousins were in town all last week, and whenever you'd ask them to do something and they were in a good mood, they'd answer, "Yess ma'am, on duty!" The first time Megan heard that I could hear her giggle. To be honest I laughed too. How can you not?

I might be getting an iPhone soon. :) BIG SMILES.

Remember Me?

It's been a while. My how things have changed!

1. Since school's been out, Megan and I have been working 36 hours a week, which in fact will have to be cut due to lack of work and people being stupid. It's a real shame, considering I've been looking forward to saving up money for a new car and iPhone at the end of summer. Ugh.

2. I joined a gym with Megan. It definitely helps keep me in check, and I feel better after I run or lift weights. It keeps me motivated and driven. I want to lose at least 15 lbs before Melissa's wedding in October. It's hard but I'm willing to work for it.

3. My hair has gotten to a point where I can easily put it in a pony tail, but it's got these weird lengths all around that I'm not sure what to do. I want to get it cut, considering it hasn't been cut since November/December, but I' so afraid it'll look stupid again. Oh the rut I'm in...

4. I've been wanting to write again. I had this stupid story I started before, but I'm seriously in this mood to get something done. I imagine movies or things in my head all the time, but I can never get it down on paper...or on the computer. Every time I do, I blank. I need to just carry around a notebook or something...

5. I heart cheesesticks. So much.

School. Work. Gym. Life.

Finals are all over. Sign Language went very well, and when I got out, I ended up having an extra hour or so, which was helpful in letting me relax. Sadly, though, I got a 77% on my Quantitative Methods final, which ended up being the medium in the class as well. Ugh, stupid Regression chapter. OF COURSE there were tons of questions on it! Just my luck...It just bursts my bubble to get a score like that. I know it's decent, but it's the fact that I KNOW I could have done better that's eating away at me. And that ended up putting me at an 88.5% in the class. Gah. Oh well. Nothing I can do now.

My schedule is set up at work for 36 hours spread throughout 4 days so I can have Fridays off to relax and do whatever. Perfect, right? What am I doing on Friday though? Working. To get overtime hours. Because work is behind, and one girl isn't coming back in for a while because she's getting surgery on her legs done again. Ugh. And then the gym after that with Megan for our first day to train. I can tell you now that I'm going to be so pooped this summer, with all the working and gym and trying to fit my social life in there...Oh the life I lead...

So how about when Jackie and I went to see He's Just Not That Into You, it pretty much defined our lives. GREAT movie though! I might actually buy it...

Those Funny Life Choices

I think my friends and I are at this point where we're so stressed out about finals and work that every small thing that happens sends us into a fit of FML. We had a bit of a ranting and hugging bit last night, and in every other text is a sigh or efffffff. Mainly the cause is some guys, but there is other stuff as well. Gah.

Speaking of finals, I have both of mine today:
American Sign Language from 12-155 and then Quantitative Methods from 2-4.
(Note the times, please. Yes, in fact if I take the entire time for ASL, I have 5 minutes to make it ALL THE EFFING WAY across campus to take my hardest test yet. FML.)

And to top it all off, I missed a day sometime in the past two weeks, so I missed the Regression chapter for Quant Methods, so now I have no idea what in the hell some of these equations mean. Horray. What exactly is Sum of Squares Regression? And how does it relate to the Y Hat equation? Is the Degrees of Freedom Regression the same as the Degrees of Freedom Within Treatment, Between Treatments, Between Subjects, or Total? Or is it completely different?

Exactly. I'm screwed.

And I can't study for math tests. No, it's not that I have no motivation, it's that I CAN'T study for math tests, and I never have, really. Not from Algebra all the way through to AP Calculus. It's not like Psychology or ASL where you memorize definitions and signs...it's numbers. Obviously Dr. Jones isn't going to put the same numbers on the final as in the practice test, so why study when every question is going to be different? It was the same with the ACT and other proficiency tests I've taken. I honestly can't study for them. I just go with the flow, and the funny thing is that I get good grades. Am I smart or lucky? I know...I'm going with the latter. Let's hope this luck continues...

Spring Fever

I love college life.

During my time at St. Joseph's for Junior High, I was stuck inside all day for class and lunch, and we only got to go outside when Mrs. Miller was feeling nice. (Which was very rare.)

At McKinley, we barely got to go outside, except for crossing the parking lot for AP Calculus class at the end of the day. I loved doing that in the spring/summer time because we got to unwind a bit before finally sitting for another hour and a half.

But being in college is so much more amazing. During the spring/summer at Akron, there are people playing Frisbee outside, laying in the grass, studying on the steps, or just walking around leisurely. I love the fact that after I eat dinner, I can go sit in the grass with my friend and watch a squirrel run across the grass. I love watching someone on their bike stop, lay down on a bench, and just chill out under a tree. Everything is so much less stressful. Classes are scheduled to your liking and not shoved into an 8 hour day. There are no bells worry about when going between classes, and there are so many people to meet and get to know.

That's what people should look forward to when going to college. Sure, sororities and fraternities are great places to meet peers and party, but when there are so many small things to satisfy you, why do all those other things?

Moving On Up!

As I was sitting in the Commuter's Lounge yesterday I was thinking about what my Communications adviser said about getting to know people in the Communications department by talking to them and even joining ZTV or WZIP (our school TV and radio station). Well, I had about 30-45 minutes before my next class, so I quickly made my way over to Kolbe Hall and up to the third floor. When I got there, I asked for an application to join in the fall, and this kind older man asked me to sit down on the couch and he began to explain to me what I was needed to do and how to do it to become part of these programs.

Mr. Beck (the nice elder) said that I was required to work 10 hours or more a week and that I had to take training classes Monday through Fridays during the semester. He also said that when/if I start (there's an application process similiar to a job), that I wouldn't be placed in one specific area, rather that I would have to dabble in everything to get general knowledge.
So, I asked if next Tuesday they had any time open, and so on the 21st I get to shadow people for a couple of hours! YAY! Mr. Beck said that I could see what a disc jockey does, or get to see how cameras work, or even watch a taping of something and sit in a meeting.

I love going out and working on my future. It is so easy and it makes me feel accomplished.
