Baby Steps

I've considered making more achievable goals instead of impossible ones, such as getting three blogs in a row. Apparently it's a hard thing for me to do. So, how about three in one week? That's a bit easier to handle. New goal: Post twice again within the next 7 days. Done.

Remember my problem with the whole eye contact thing? Well my lovely friends decided to stare at me for minutes at a time when I told them about my dilemma. THAT'S why I'm uncomfortable! But I have been better at it. The guy walking past me outside the Student Union? Totally looked. One small baby step for me, one giant leap for...my self-esteem.

One great thing about college is meeting new people. Example: one day while I was walking towards my Stats class, I found a guy in a wheelchair struggling to get up a hill while everyone else walked past him. I felt HORRIBLE. It was a nice, warm day out, and here's this kid zig-zagging all slowly just to get past the damn hill. (It's really a killer, even for those not in a wheelchair.) So, I stopped and asked him if he needed any help. He was more than gracious and I pushed him to his next class, which ended up being across campus, but it didn't bother me. His name is Abdul and we got to talking about our majors and work and whatnot. He was one of the sweetest guys ever. (He said he glad he came across me because it was such a nice day out, and hopefully he'd run into me more often.) Unfortunately, I haven't seen him since, but I look. Abdul was a cool guy. I definitely encourage al to meet new people on campus, because you might meet someone as cool as him! Totally worth it.

I'm going to the midnight showing of Twilight, next Thursday night/Friday morning even though I'm not too excited about it. And what's all this with the Team Edward and Team Jacob? Where's the Team Emmett shirts?! I'd be in one of those faster than you can say "vampire". I got a free download of the remix of Bella's lullaby also, which I'm currently listening to. NOT worth it. I'm ashamed to have it on my iTunes. It's just random piano and techno with Robert Pattinson and what's-her-face saying lines from the movie in it. Gah, I hope that movie proves me wrong.

Ok, enough for now. I promise I'll write again soon, and I don't go back on my word.
